Redemption - by Kristina Bracke

My pounding muscle
bleeds red tears
Dripping through my stomach
Around my knees
And puddling up in my toes

This speck is crying red drops
Blood and tears mixed into one liquid
The shower doesn't discriminate
When it washes away the anguish
Leaving a traceable stain on the tile floor

Sins and mistakes are washed away
As one affliction replaces another
And a tint appears on my flesh
That marks a time a place
When the crimson rose to the surface

It's hard to decipher
Which is which and what is what
When I feel the liquid dripping down my face
The liquid of life, the liquid of love
And the liquid of redemption

No feeling of forgiveness
Though I've given my blood for it
I've gone through the sacrificial soaking
And been consumed by the spirit
Yet the dirty smudges still remain
Kristina is currently a sophomore in college studying to be a social worker. Her main love is volunteering and impacting on the lives of others!

Remember - by Barbara

I, the young boy,
the secret of your childhood memories,
do you remember when your life was so jovial?
Life, only you can live once,
so keep the fond memories,
do look behind you,
for the past is your secret of your future.

For the future is your destiny of events that will happen in your life.

The past holds the secrets to your success,
so dwell upon your memories,
because they have the key.
One day the lock will be open,
that will be the day the the key has been found
and life for you will flourish into another fond memory.
Barbara is from Minnesota. She is planning on opening a metaphysical store with a coffee shop.

Untitled - by Kyle

from a black vacuum
to some big bang
from hydrogen to human
to the massive size of you brain
from fire to wheels
to wires to frowns
everything builds up
and then all falls down
a single apple
that fell to Newton's lap
a heartless earthquake
that made your home collapse
a single swat could end it all
one bad trip and we could fall
from Santa Rosa, CA, live in Seattle WA, a student who spends his money on photography, music, and bank fees.

Untitled - by Dorothy Kujala

Somewhere in the moment
floating in between
There's truth and clarity of being
Who ever wants to know
Who ever wants to see
Needs only look between
  Nothing is for sure
  Never is forever
Every filling feeling
Every grand mistake
Is a fitting piece of the
  Perfect Picture
So for all our sakes
Take every thing you have
and give it all away
Then take everything you are
and make it what you want
Fore Where's the truth in self
    denial?
    Where's the truth in lies?
If you want to know me,
  you'll have to look inside
If you want to see me,
  you'll have to start believing
I am a 21yr old manic depressive defining the world from a unique perspective...blessings and peace

Is This Me - by Paul

I don't like drugs
I'm heterosexual
I've got a steady job
I'm what some people call straight
So why aint I thinking straight?

Doubts about the capalist system
Dreams of pure silence
The opinion which may be false that most lives are wasted on chasing
futile goals of financial wealth

A brain that ticks like a metronome works to preset beat and eventually stops
I need to change the way I tick
Or do I need to change the way I listen to the beat
Or do I need to forget the beat and improvise my own rhythm
But the beat is inbuilt and has been preset, all I do is tick
I'll eventually stop
I live in Sydney. I'm interested in life. Mail me paul_gal@yahoo.com

The Fallen - by Xenophin Lategan

Once by my side
We both were timid by selves;
     Strong by masses
Paths diverged - a risk we take
I took the right path,
A choice we make
Watching him wither
Watching him die
The man that has fallen
Once at my side
Hi, I am currently a third year science student at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. I hardly get exposure to art and poetry anymore and I just felt I had to write this the other day. Its about myself - and how I view people around me - and make a part of their personality my own. Each of the people described are real. Thanks

Moonphase - by keitan

A sun rises in the east,
But a new dawn pauses before the wake.
Then two days will become one
Forever.

New ways of being will bring memories of a darker half.
Those who lived in darkness of days gone by will find exposure,
And shadows will only exist in places too hidden from the light.

But even as we speak, darkness fears its death.
Knowing damn well that death comes for certain.

But blindness is gained by staring into the false light.
Shame will be had by many of those who live in ways of civilizations past.

Truth will become experience as revelations become revealed.
But balance is needed for predicted transitions.

untitled - by Michael Holmes

i know that you cant' see this
but my pain is something that changes my words of the love that i feel
to a hurtful hiss

everyday all i feel for you is love
and if i thought that you felt the same
i would know that there is some being high above

the possibility of being without you
from day to day for all time
is something that i don't believe that i can do

and when i hear goodbye
i am filled with grief
and wish to die

so i ask of you please don't go
but i will understand why
when you inevitabley do so
I am 22 and currently enlisted in the air force in korea. my life is mainly in my head so it's hard to share with others.

Just looking - by William McDowell

A plain glass of frosted tint,
comes between my every dream.
A clothes line stretches,
between both trees.
Seven pegs of different colours.
Men work beyond thy dream.
Looking up at my frosted tint.
They see my shadow,
Through frosted tint.
That comes between my every
Dream.
My shadow between both trees.
I come from London England and my job is caring for the elderly. More poetry at: http://www.momentsof.freeuk.com/Index.html

untitled - by CJ Mac Ish'kabibill Von Ok'nook

Within you eyes is a galaxy,
Creation is within your hands,
Rain is your pain,
The sea is your emotions,
Animals are your voice,
And when you do shake, I beg forgiveness,
Your never ending song is the wind,
Fire is your cleansing anger,
Our hope is your life,
For you are the world to me.
I enjoy reading, friends, and internet. I'm also a southern bell who lives in the desert. :J

Sanctuary - by Ashley Knight

There is a place I can visualise deep in my mind,
I strive to reach, yet I know it would destroy me,
I feel the pain and anger it would cause me,
I strive to reach, yet I know I would not feel it,
A place where I can find my self yet be lost there,
In an asylum in these restraints, unable to feel,
For that love I've lost, I strive to retrieve
Yet these restraints pursue me, that place,
These restraints, this asylum will not stop me,
I will feel, I will retrieve my love, I will reach.
My sanctuary.
i'm 17 living in northampton (New York), and i write short poetry and stories.
